Gall Stones Treatment in Nadipathy

Gallstones are pieces of solid material form in the gallbladder, a small organ located under the liver. The gallbladder aids in the digestive process by storing bile and secreting it into the small intestine when food enters. Bile is a fluid produced by the liver and is made up of several substances, including cholesterol, bilirubin, and bile salts.
                 Gallstones can form when there is an imbalance in the substances that make up bile. For instance, cholesterol stones may develop as a result of too much cholesterol in the bile. These stones develop because cholesterol and pigments in bile sometimes form hard particles. Having gallstones, also called cholelithasis. Gall bladder is a sac that stores substance called bile, which is produced by the liver.

             After meals, the bladder contracts and release bile into the intestine to aid in digestion. Gall stones just sit in gallbladder and don’t cause problems. But sometimes block the exit from the gallbladder, called the cystic duct.  

Two main types of gallstones are:
        1.     Cholesterol stones: Usually yellow-green in color, approximately 80% of                                                       gallstones are cholesterol stones.
        2.     Pigment stones: These stones are smaller and darker and are made up of bilirubin.





Symptoms of gallstones:

·        Sickle cell anemia
·        Pain in the upper abdomen and upper back
·        Gastrointestinal problems like indigestion, bloating, heartburn and gas

·        Rapid heart beat

Causes of gallstones:

·        Obesity mainly in women or over weight
·        Decreased mobility function of gallbladder
·        Recently lost weight using weight loss surgery
·        Taking medications
